How do I merge announcements?

The Merge feature in Announcements allows for a central course to broadcast announcements to other courses. For example: a Nursing Program includes twenty different courses, but a single Nursing Program master course or project site can be used to push announcements out to all twenty of the Nursing Program courses.

  • Merged announcements can only be edited in the course within which they were created.
  • Courses that receive merged announcements can continue to create additional announcements that apply to those courses only. These appear in addition to the merged announcements.

Go to the Announcements tool.

Select the Announcements tool from the Tool Menu of your site.

Click Merge.

Select the course from which to merge an announcement.

Check the box beside the course from which this course will draw its announcement(s), and then click Save.
